Geometric Sculpture

CHALLENGE

Client wanted a life-sized replica of an existing sculpture for the lobby of the Copper King Hotel in Butte, Montana.

The customer's original idea was for a solid copper sculpture. However, the resulting weight, fabrication difficulty, cost, and installation requirements made that idea too impractical.

CONSTRAINTS

SOLUTION

We proposed a hollow, 12-gauge steel construction that preserved the desired scale and visual impact, but made it substantially lighter, more feasible to fabricate, and easier to transport.
